I love to see the Temple

Tonight we got to take a tour of the Family History Center. Thanks to Sister Mitts for sharing with us all her knowledge about Family History. The girls had a chance to learn about microfilm and microfiche - and the ancient machines that project them!

A cute story: We were looking at marriage records in Michigan, and the years listed were 1885-1886. Ashlynne merrily pointed out that was when her Mom was born! She may have been a century or so off - but it was very cute!

I asked the girls which are their favorite temples, and these were their replies:

Ashlynne: Bountiful, because it was where she was sealed to her family.

Sarah: Seattle, because it was where her parents were sealed

Brittany: she couldn't pinpoint one......which is ok, because I don't have a favorite either!
I love the temple, all of them in fact, and each seems just as beautiful as the last. It is my hope that these young girls will continue to love and cherish the Temples of the Lord.

Upcoming Activity Days

Hopefully I will get a bit more organized now that the end of summer and beginning of school are almost complete! I'm not sure about this week yet, but I have scheduled the following activities for September:

Wednesday, September 9 - Temple Work. We will be preparing a pedigree chart for our families, so please be sure your children know the names of their parents and grandparents, and any other pedigree information they might have for them. We will also be discussing temple work. I will be contacting the parents to get their child's favorite temple.

Wednesday, September 23 - Good Health Night. We will do a little excercising (be sure to wear appropriate clothes for this,) eat some healthy snacks and if we have enough time - manicures and pedicures! Be sure to bring your favorite nail polish if you have one!

Cake Decorating!

Sadly, Mylei was the only one who could attend our activity that evening. We still had fun! I was grossly under-prepared, but I think Mylei did a great job decorating! Here is a quick slideshow of her artwork:

Makes you kinda hungry, right?

Pool Party!

The girls had fun! It was nice and hot, hot! Perfect swimming weather. We had birthday cupcakes for all the July birthdays - we welcome Sarah, say farewell to Abigail and just happy birthday to Mylei.

Pajama Party!

I hope everyone had fun! We got to meet two of Mylei's cousins - Avery and Jasmine! It was nice to get to know them! Katie just had to try on my shoes, of course we had to have a pillow fight, and who could resist the trampoline? And everyone wanted ice cream.......
